Any business that locates in Liberty County and meets the guidelines of a Foreign Trade Zone may apply and be admitted to Foreign Trade Zone 171. Foreign Trade Zone status creates a duty-free area, which reduces the costs of importing and exporting goods used in manufacturing. Additionally, inventory located in a Foreign Trade Zone may be exempt from personal property tax.
